Why KW Montessori
About Us
Our KW Montessori School
Established in 1972, our school is committed to delivering high-quality Montessori education. At KW Montessori we offer a safe and learning inspired environment to children aged 2 to 12 years. Our facility is a registered private school where your child can begin at the preschool level and continue right through until the end of Grade 6. Our programs are carefully developed to guide each child toward greater independence, social competence, with a solid foundation in lifelong learning skills.
Our Philosophy
KW Montessori School
The Montessori philosophy and method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century. Through scientific observation and research, she identified key aspects of childhood development. A Montessori classroom is led by a trained Montessori teacher and is filled with developmentally appropriate materials, which allow children to progress at their own rate. Children develop into self-motivated learners, following their own interest in an environment that promotes respect for self and others and a life-long love of learning.
The Montessori program is designed to meet the needs of the child during each stage of development. In a carefully arranged environment, a Montessori child discovers the joy of independent learning at their own pace, within an atmosphere of structure and freedom. Authentic Montessori materials play a crucial role, providing opportunities for refining senses, mastering key isolated concepts, and promoting self-correction as a vital aspect of the learning process.

Our Teachers
Every class is led by a Montessori-educated Directress.
Our Montessori teachers undergo specialized training from AMI/MACTE certified programs. are an essential link between the student and the Montessori environment. The primary role of the Montessori teacher is to tailor the program to meet the unique needs of each individual child.
The Montessori teacher, referred to as a ‘Directress/Director,’ serves as a guide within the classroom. Every class is led by a Montessori-educated Directress, along with one or two assistants, tailored to the class size. They present appropriate materials and lessons when it is suitable for each child based on their age and stage of development.
Montessori teachers are trained to observe each student in order to determine each child’s developmental and academic needs. They skillfully introduce appropriate materials and lessons to students based on their own individual needs, while ensuring active participation across all areas of the classroom and curriculum.
Teaching assistants and specialty teachers who are not Montessori trained are required to become familiar with the Montessori philosophy and are encouraged to enroll in Montessori workshops or courses. We actively support staff development, fostering a unified and Montessori-aligned approach across our entire teaching team.
